FAQs
What is UPF swimwear?
UPF swimwear, or Ultraviolet Protection Factor swimwear, is specifically designed to provide protection against the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. The UPF rating indicates the level of protection the swimwear offers, informing you about the amount of UV radiation you will be exposed to while wearing it.
The highest UPF rating achievable is UPF 50+. This rating is considered “excellent” by The Skin Cancer Foundation, as it blocks approximately 98% of the sun’s UV rays, allowing only about 2% to penetrate the skin. This high level of protection helps reduce the risk of sunburn and skin damage caused by harmful UV radiation.
What is a fabric with an index of 50+ and how is it created?
Fabric with a UPF 50+ rating is a fabric with a high level of protection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The UPF 50+ rating indicates that this fabric is capable of absorbing 98% of the sun’s rays, blocking their penetration into the skin and providing a high level of protection.
Fabrics with a UPF 50+ rating are created using a special dense structure and unique fiber weaving. This allows them to have a high ability to absorb and reflect ultraviolet radiation. When the fabric has such a dense structure, it provides more reliable protection against sun rays.
The fabrics we use are manufactured in Europe, specifically in Italy and the Netherlands. They undergo special tests and laboratory trials to confirm their ability to block ultraviolet radiation and meet the UPF 50+ standard. This guarantees that our products provide a high level of sun protection and help prevent skin damage from UV rays.
What materials are used?
We use a high-performance sustainable techo-fabric made from 100% recycled polyester sourced from pre and post-consumer materials. The fabric offers 4-way stretch, providing our swimsuits with a slight compression effect for a flattering fit. Additionally, our swimsuits are crafted with a blend of 82% polyamide and 18% elastane.

What sewing technologies are used in Mschöne?
We use the “flat seams” sewing technology. This technique allows us to create flat seams that minimize friction and do not leave prints on the skin. The innovative flat seams technology ensures maximum comfort.
What zippers are used?
We use unique YKK Vislon Slim zippers. These zippers are 25% thinner and 23% lighter compared to other alternatives. With their slim profile, these zippers prevent wrinkles and smoothly conform to the body, maintaining the sleek appearance of the swimsuit. The zippers are durable and resistant to water and corrosion, ensuring their functionality and longevity even in wet environments.
Do you need special care for the fitting?
We use hardware specifically designed for water activities with a water-repellent effect. However, to save its good condition, we recommend the following care tips:
- After each use, rinse the swimsuit in cold water to remove salts, chlorine, or sand.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals.
- Preferably dry flat
- Store the swimsuit in a dry place to prevent damage to the hardware from moisture or the environment.
